Founded Capital Risk Consulting to provide a portfolio of financial and risk analysis services with a focus on energy related projects and investments.  Services include deterministic and probabilistic modeling, risk analysis of models, modeling and risk analysis of asset portfolios, capital arranging services, business plan development, investor presentation design, and general financial analysis.

 

CoBank - Assistant Vice President April 2001 - July 2002

Led the underwriting effort on purchased paper transactions for project financed energy projects including 6 power plants totaling 8,820 megawatts and commitments of $318 million, 2 corporate loan facilities totaling $17 million in commitments, and 2 pipelines totaling $90 million in commitments.  In addition, managed a portion of CoBank's energy portfolio that totaled $560 million in outstanding balances and consisted of 19 power plants with total capacity of 30,900 megawatts, 2 refineries, 2 pipelines, and 2 corporate facilities.  Portfolio management included reviewing and making recommendations concerning issues including: asset insurance policies, project vendor bankruptcy, borrower bankruptcy, energy marketing, and market consultants among others.

 

Relera Inc. - Energy Analyst December 2000 - March 2001

Provided analysis of energy usage and project management for a startup internet data center company.  Project management entailed managing the application process for environmental permits of backup generators as well as primary utility connections for six data centers.

Enron Producer Services - Denver  Associate April 2000 - October 2000

Supported the Marketing/Trading operations of the Denver office including book administration and logistics.  Built trading and marketing models as needed.  Managed loan accounts with a 3rd party customer of Producer Services.

 

Enron Producer Finance - Denver  Associate  February 1999 - March 2000

Designed and used financial models to evaluate third party oil and gas exploration projects in the Rocky Mountain region.  Deal structures included corporate equity positions, mergers & acquisitions, debt placement, volumetric production payments, and mezzanine finance.  Created presentations for clients marketing Enron’s financial services.  Also performed market research on clients and helped maintain client relationships.

 

Enron Mexico Corp.  Analyst  October 1997 - January 1999

Assisted in the development of power plant, compression, and LDC projects in Mexico.  Modeled economics for several projects incorporating Mexican Inflationary Accounting and Tax rules.  Created presentations for potential industrial customers.  Reviewed and edited power purchase agreements.  Performed market research regarding the supply and demand of electricity in Mexico.

 

Enron International - Asset Management  Analyst  October 1996 - October 1997

Analyzed the operations and costs of Enron’s domestic and international power generation facilities.  Wrote benchmark reports for use by O&M Evaluators.  Coordinated initial work for Enron International’s ISO 9000 certification effort.  Designed and created a model that performs preliminary O&M estimates.  Performed Maintenance Reserve Analysis to evaluate Enron’s savings through self-maintenance programs at Clear Lake and Texas City Plants.

 

Urban Business Initiative - Board Member  January 1998 - January 1999

Served as a volunteer board member for start-up non-profit organization focused on providing business expertise to entrepreneurs in Houston’s Enterprise Zones.  Consulted on several business plans including a Creole restaurant and a food reclamation plant producing animal feed.
